More than 12 years he was involving in the organic research particularly in the processing and sensory evaluation. he serves as associate editor of Journal Organic Agriculture (section food processing) (https://www.springer.com/journal/13165/editors) as well as Managing Editor of Asia Pacific Journal of Sustainable Agriculture Food and Energy. In 2013, together with other Universities colleague in the region Southeast Asia, he initiated Sustainable Agriculture Food and Energy (SAFE) Network that consist of 10 countries and 34 Universities in the Asia Pacific region.

He has been publishing more than 50 scientific papers. Most of them in the field of organic food, dietary pattern, food culture as well as sensory evaluation (both in English as well as in Indonesian). He has been awarded research grant from several funding institution.

He is a member of the Indonesian Association of Food Technologist (IAFT) and active member of International Society of Organic Agriculture Research (ISOFAR) as well as member of Indonesia Society for Functional Food and Nutraceutical (ISFFN).


He involved as technical committee for Indonesia Standard Body (BSN) for sensory evaluation standard as well as scientific advisor for Indonesia Organic Alliance (IOA). Since 2019, he has appointed by the IFOAM Asia as Organic innovation, Research and Development Committee board. 


Research interest: Organic Food Quality, Food Culture, Sensory Evaluation and Food Consumption Behavior
