Indonesia Food Security Reveiw
The rapid increasing of annual production of food does not automatically ensure food security in Indonesia. The food security in Indonesia nowadays face several obstacles such as:
1. Lack of irrigation : unpredictable local micro-climate (2), long drought and rainy season.
2. The total cost of logistic is very high compare other country, The road and shipping infrastructure is the most dominant factor of high cost in logistic.

The strategy of food security for the up coming years should also focus on distribution and market channel. Even though Indonesia could reach the targeted annual production but when during distribution and storage has high cost it doesn't make senses for increasing accessibility to the people (due to the high cost at consumer).
In 2013, storage cost reach IDR 546 Billion and for transportation about IDR. 1.092 Billion and total cost for administration IDR 182 Billion.
From figure above, food security must focus on "not only for" production but distribution as well. Distribution is important role to maintain total cost and accessibility of food in the consumer level.
